SPEAKEASY LIGHTING & SMART-HOME INTEGRATION IN LEESBURG

Some rooms invite you to slow down. A warm glow along the ceiling. Glassware catching the light. A bar that feels as considered after dark as it does in daylight. For this Leesburg homeowner, the vision began with a new speakeasy—and lighting that would give it its own unmistakable character.

Nuvetra Integration installed high-end lighting and lighting control, then extended the project into the rest of the home. Three Ubiquiti access points expanded Wi-Fi coverage. A later Control4 system connected the existing theater, every television, basement and kitchen lighting, the garage door, and Sonos network audio.

A room worth lingering in. A home brought together.

SET THE ATMOSPHERE

A speakeasy with
its own kind of glow.

The room’s atmosphere comes from the way its lighting works together. Warm crown lighting gives the ceiling a gentle presence. Illuminated shelves turn the back bar into a focal point. Decorative pendants bring texture and intimacy to the space where people gather.

Warm architectural light and illuminated shelving give the finished bar its character.

All that atmosphere.
A simple touch.

The finished keypad puts the room’s lighting within reach, with labeled controls for the crown, shelves, pendants and more. Bright, Dim and Room Off buttons make the room’s settings easy to find.

A carefully lit room should be a pleasure to use. By bringing the lighting layers to clearly labeled controls, the finished space feels approachable from the first touch—whether the evening calls for a brighter setting or a quieter glow.

The evening starts here.
The experience reaches further.

CONTROL4 INTEGRATION THROUGH THE HOME

The speakeasy was the starting point, not the limit of the vision. In a later phase, Control4 brought entertainment, selected lighting, the garage door, and Sonos audio into a connected system—building on technology the homeowner already enjoyed.

01 / CINEMA

The existing home theater

An existing theater found its place in the larger Control4 system, carrying the project’s emphasis on connected entertainment beyond the bar.

02 / TELEVISION

Every TV in the home

Every television in the house joined the system, bringing the home’s viewing spaces into the same considered approach to control.

03 / LIGHTING

Basement & kitchen

Basement and kitchen lighting joined the Control4 installation, extending the attention given to the speakeasy into spaces used throughout the day.

04 / ACCESS

The garage door

The garage door became part of the Control4 installation, bringing another everyday touchpoint into the connected home.

05 / MUSIC

Sonos network audio

Sonos network audio joined the broader system, giving music its place alongside lighting and entertainment in the project’s overall vision.

06 / THE APPROACH

Build on what is there

The project incorporated the existing theater and expanded in phases. A clear starting point made room for a more connected home over time.

Ubiquiti Wi-Fi & network expansion

Connected inside.
Extended beyond.

Three Ubiquiti access points extended Wi-Fi throughout the house. The homeowner also needed connectivity beyond the main building, so a NanoBeam wireless link extended the network to the detached garage.

Wired network upgrades built on prewiring completed about a year earlier. That early preparation supported the next stage of technology upgrades—connecting the infrastructure behind the walls to the experiences enjoyed in the home.

ADDITIONAL PROJECT SYSTEMS

More of the home.
Thoughtfully considered.

The vision extended beyond the speakeasy. From a clearer view of the property to beautifully illuminated cabinetry and thoughtfully placed entertainment, each addition brought another part of this Leesburg home into focus.

UNIFI PROTECT CAMERAS

A view of
what matters.

UniFi Protect security cameras throughout the property added another layer to the home’s technology. Installed alongside the upgraded network, the camera system expanded the project’s focus from connection to awareness.

CABINETRY LIGHTING

Everyday spaces.
A different light.

Cabinetry lighting in the kitchen and bathrooms carried the project’s attention to light beyond the bar. These quieter details brought illumination into the spaces the homeowner moves through every day.

SAMSUNG FRAME TV

Entertainment with
a sense of place.

A Samsung Frame TV added another viewing space to the home’s entertainment experience. Its installation continued the project’s thoughtful balance of technology, daily enjoyment, and the character of the surrounding room.

HOW THE PROJECT EVOLVED

One starting point.
A plan with room to grow.

What began as a vision for one remarkable room gradually reached beyond it. Lighting set the atmosphere, connectivity supported the home, and Control4 brought the experience together.

CREATE THE ATMOSPHERE

Begin with
the room.

The speakeasy came first. High-end lighting brought warmth to the ceiling, depth to the shelving, and character to the bar. A dedicated lighting control system made those carefully considered layers easy to enjoy.

CONNECT THE HOUSE

Support the
experience.

As the project expanded, three Ubiquiti access points extended Wi-Fi throughout the house. The network became an essential part of the broader plan, supporting the connected technology taking shape beyond the speakeasy.

BRING SYSTEMS TOGETHER

Extend the
vision.

Control4 followed, integrating the existing home theater, every television, basement and kitchen lighting, the garage door, and Sonos audio. A project that began with atmosphere in one room became a more connected experience across the home.

THE RESULTS

A distinctive place to gather.
A more connected place to live.

The speakeasy gives this Leesburg project its character: warm light tracing the ceiling, illuminated shelves framing the bar, and decorative pendants inviting people to settle in. Clearly labeled lighting controls put that atmosphere comfortably within reach.

Beyond the bar, three Ubiquiti access points expanded Wi-Fi coverage, while Control4 brought together the existing theater, every television, basement and kitchen lighting, the garage door, and Sonos audio. What began with the feeling of one room grew into a thoughtful connection between spaces throughout the home.

CLEAR ANSWERS

A closer look
at the project.

Behind the atmosphere is a thoughtful combination of lighting, connectivity, and control. Here is how the pieces came together in this Leesburg home.

What did Nuvetra install in this Leesburg home?

The project began with high-end lighting and a dedicated lighting control system for the homeowner’s new speakeasy. Crown lighting, illuminated shelves, and decorative pendants gave the room its layered atmosphere.

The work then extended beyond the bar. Three Ubiquiti access points expanded Wi-Fi coverage, and a later Control4 installation integrated the existing home theater, every television, basement and kitchen lighting, the garage door, and Sonos network audio.

What makes the speakeasy lighting feel distinctive?

Its character comes from layers of light, each with a different role. Warm crown lighting traces the ceiling, illuminated shelving draws attention to the back bar, and decorative pendants create a focal point above the counter.

Together, these elements give the space depth and warmth. The lighting becomes part of the room’s design, highlighting the details that make it an inviting place to gather.

How does the homeowner control the room’s lighting?

A dedicated wall keypad puts clearly labeled lighting controls within reach. The homeowner can adjust the crown, shelves, pendants, and other lighting without reaching for a phone.

Bright, Dim, and Room Off buttons make common adjustments easy to find. The result is a practical companion to the room’s carefully layered lighting: sophisticated atmosphere with straightforward everyday control.

What was integrated with Control4?

Control4 connected several existing and newly integrated parts of the home:

  • The existing home theater.
  • Every television in the house.
  • Basement and kitchen lighting.
  • The garage door.
  • Sonos network audio.

This phase carried the project beyond the speakeasy, bringing entertainment, selected lighting, and everyday access into the home’s broader control system.

Why was Wi-Fi part of the project?

As the project reached into more rooms, connectivity became an important part of the plan. Three Ubiquiti access points extended Wi-Fi coverage throughout the house.

While the speakeasy’s lighting is immediately visible, the network is a quieter part of the experience. Considering both helped connect the room-focused work with the home’s broader technology needs.

Did the entire project happen at once?

No. The project started with the speakeasy’s lighting and controls. Wi-Fi improvements followed, and Control4 was added in a later phase to integrate entertainment, selected lighting, the garage door, and Sonos audio.

That progression is part of what makes this project compelling. A clear vision for one room became the starting point for a more connected home, with each phase adding to the overall experience.

Can my project start with just one room?

Yes. A speakeasy, media room, kitchen, or another favorite space can be the starting point. Begin with what you would like to improve: the atmosphere, the entertainment, the controls, or the connection.
